TIME Wins Magazine of the Year at National Magazine Awards

TIME was awarded the honor of achievement of editorial excellence both in print and on digital platforms at the 2012 National Magazine Awards in New York, by picking up Magazine of the Year – the biggest award of the night.

The prestigious accolade celebrates both the magazine and its digital platform. “Publications like Esquire and Vanity Fair continue to publish extraordinary literary journalism, and GQ and TIME are pushing the boundaries of magazine making both in print and on digital platforms,” said Sid Holt, chief executive of ASME.

The award recognizes a publication for what it does in print, online, and on the tablet. We’re delighted with the recognition and thank all our loyal readers for their continuing support.

The awards took place in the New York Marriott Marquis, and are known as “Ellies” because each trophy takes the form of an elephant made out of copper.
