Social Touching

You wanna touch someone but don’t wanna come across as a perv? Of course it is more than possible to start touching people in a less than pervasive manner. It’s called ’social touching’. And yes, you can learn to touch people without causing too much awkwardness. Here’s the tips:

• Start early. It can feel more than awkward if you start touching a girl once you’ve been chatting to her for half an hour. Try and start during the opener if poss.
• Touch everybody within the group. You want to be seen as a social person, not as a perverse seducer. Do not touch the girl you fancy differently from you would to other strangers.
• Test her. Girls usually give off mixed signals verbally, but few will lie without touching. For instance, if you tell a girl to remove her hands because you want to show her something, you can get quite a clue as to what she feels about you by what she does. If she puts her hands up, it’s a fair indication she might fancy you. If she put her hands down, she might not, yet.
• Create opportunities. You can easily make up secret handshakes. Teach her what the different lines on her palm mean - try and be creative, make her laugh. Touch her at key moments when telling your stories.
• Be responsive to men touching you. Invading other blokes’ personal space is a clear sign of dominance. This can be extremely attractive to girls. In fact, they’re more likely to want to make eye contact with men who express this kind of dominance over other men.
